Three of the things on that list are on back order. Do you have an option B?

We will have to rework a bunch of stuff. The more and more I am looking at it the less I like the frame. Anyone else have a recommendation for a good frame?

Brian found a good design for a quad. We will have to build it our self out of wood but we can use the laser cutter to carve it exactly. When we finalize a size then we can choose prop sizes and then recommend a motor and ESC. Flight electronics should all stay the same.

* NOTE: I screwed up on the pdf, I am fixing it now!Alright, I got the pdf of the frame. It is 12 in tall by 24 inches wide. It looks like we will be able to have a maximum of 11 inch propellers. I attempted to get some plywood but you have to order 3mm (1/8 inch) plywood because they don't carry it in the stores. However, they had particle board but that would be a bad idea to use. I thought Kevin Lee had some plywood in his office, ill see if he can help us out tomorrow. (I forgot to add that we need to use 2 pieces of 12 in by 24 inch plywood because we need to cut out two over every part, this frame will be very strong but also very light, it is a good platform and it will allow us to play with something next week)

OK, forget about buying online. I went to Hub Hobby today to ask some questions and get some advice. Needless to say I highly recommend that we buy from them. Prices are just a bit more but we don't need to worry about shipping.
Motors
BP A2212-13 - $20 BP A2217-9 - $29
ESC
BP Cheetah 30A - $22
Props
APC 10 X 5 E - $4ish
The motors are much smaller, lighter and just as powerful.
Flight controller
Multiwii MWC SE - $20
If we opt for the FTDI cable that's like 15 or so bucks but that gives us a bit more capability.

I say we get the stuff and start testing, I could design the rc motor test stand. The thing I am worrying about is balancing 11 inch props, we should ask them for help. It could be like free advertising for them.

Ok, the prop balancer, Multiwii, frame and battery have been ordered. There was a slight problem with ordering parts from Hobbyking. Site was having issues at school, so I couldn't get an order to go through there. By the time I got home and tried again the 3700mAh battery was already back-ordered. In the interest of not wasting time I ordered a 3300mAh with the same specs. Everything should be arriving in ~5 days. I will grab motors, speed controllers, and props either tomorrow or Friday.

Absolutely. The bulk of assembly will probably be completed this Wednesday.

So Hub Hobby didn't have the 10x5 props that we wanted. They only have the 10x4.5 and the 10x5.5 props. I got the 10x4.5 ones. If we want the 10x5.5 someone let me know and I will exchange them. If we need 10x5 we will have to either find them locally from a different store or order them online.

It is fine, we need to test different props anyway. Prop designs change frequently and the online calculator has its limits. It is important to determine which prop is more efficient because we have to worry about amperage draw on the battery. It is also hard on the motors if we choose the wrong props.
