I think it is necessary to test various props in order to find the most efficient prop. there is a rule of thumb for required thrust for quadcopters. this equation is, Required Thrust = ( Weight x 2 ) / 4= ( Weight x 2 ) / 4 Here is a calculator to play with some variables www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.htm?ecalc&lang=en we are guessing that the quadcopter will weigh around 2000 grams, we chose this number because the required thrust for each motor will be 1000 grams. As the perpetual tinkerer that I am, I came up with the conclusion that we need to create a test stand to determine the most efficient prop but also to break in the electric motors and verify the thrust that each motor will create. This will be an easy project and will allow us to gather important information. I am asking for feedback and will gladly accept criticism, this project will be much easier if we break it up into manageable chunks.

notice how the wash of the propeller ( that would be the air that you would feel if you put your hand in front of the fan) is on the left. This allows for a more accurate test because the fan is not as obstructed compared to the next rig.
