I'm just going to list the experiments that i can remember from the meeting today here in case anyone wants to look into them further! Angular momentum (with the bike tire and weights) electromagnetic induction (the two solenoids) electromagnetism demonstrated with the compass simple motor Electromagnetic induction demonstrated by dropping magnets down metal tubes motion demonstration with the two "wheels" rolling down an incline plane cathode ray tube Van der Graaf generator (briefly) optic motion sensor diffraction of light (the little diffraction gratings that split light into different colors) ionization of gasses to create bands of colored light (the thing we compared to the poster on the wall) light diffraction (the shoebox) The little car thing that shot a ball up and caught it (sorry i don't know what that's called) The light spectrum experiment, demonstrating how overlapping different colors create new colors of light And finally the last one i remember, the electron beam contained in the mercury gas filled apparatus (again, don't know what that's called) If I missed any just post them here

The magnetic braking by use of Eddy currents (same principle as dropping the magnets down the tubes) had to be my favorite, there's just so many real world applications.

Yeah I thought that was super interesting, although the cathode and electron beams were my favorite - I'm a particle physics kind of guy.

I wish the next one is at 12, it is much better for my schedule.

I wish the next one is at 12, it is much better for my schedule. Timing can be an issue with everyone, I personally am not a fan (read: hate) waiting for a couple hours after my last class on a Friday but I understand the later it is, the better for most people.

I don't even have class on Friday. The reason I did not go last week was due to the fact that I knew it was going to take 12 hours to do all the CAD design for the quadcopter. I guess the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, ill sit around and wait for stem club. If anybody knows anything about the laser cutter, let me know. I need to find out if I can walk in and cut out some parts for the quadcopter.
